Buying a New iPhone? Here’s What You’ll Get For Trading In Your Old One In India

Every year, Apple fans line up to grab the newest iPhones, and the launch of the iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air was no exception. Hundreds queued outside Apple Stores to get their hands on the latest models. To make upgrades more affordable, Apple offers Trade-In deals that let buyers exchange their old devices for credit, saving up to ₹64,000 on a new iPhone purchase.

For the unversed, Apple’s Trade-In program allows customers to exchange their old devices, whether iPhones or other smartphones, when purchasing a new iPhone from an Apple Store or Apple’s website. The initiative also extends to Macs, iPads, and Apple Watches, though these can only be traded in at physical stores. The trade-in value depends on the model and condition of the device, helping users save significantly on upgrades.

The program covers a wide range of iPhone models, with the iPhone 16 Pro valued up to ₹57,500, the iPhone 15 Pro Max up to ₹58,000, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max up to ₹50,000. Even smaller models such as the iPhone SE (3rd generation) or iPhone 8 retain some value, offering trade-in amounts up to ₹13,150 and ₹5,850, respectively. However, the exact amount may vary depending on wear, damage, or battery condition.

In addition to iPhones, Apple’s Trade-In program in India also accepts select Android phones from major brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, and Google. Top valuations include ₹41,540 for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, ₹19,000 for the Google Pixel 8, ₹13,400 for the OnePlus 12R, and ₹17,320 for the iQOO 12. Even mid-range models such as the Vivo V29e and Oppo F27 Pro+ qualify for moderate trade-in values.

If a device is not listed under Apple’s eligible models, customers still have the option to recycle it for free through Apple’s recycling program. This ensures that even older or unsupported smartphones are disposed of responsibly. Overall, the Trade-In initiative helps make Apple’s premium devices more accessible while promoting sustainability through device reuse and recycling.
