The Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys are donating a combined $1.5 million for Central Texas flood relief efforts.

The NFL announced the contributions in a social media post on Sunday, two days after a deluge of floodwaters devastated Kerr County and other areas northwest of San Antonio.

The catastrophic flooding that tossed vehicles sideways and ripped homes out of their foundations had left at least 100 people dead as of Tuesday.

The Houston Texans on Saturday committed $500,000 to provide support and resources for people impacted by the floods. According to a statement from Texans owner Cal McNair and his family, the team will continue to support the search, rescue and recovery efforts in the coming weeks.

“We are heartbroken by the loss and damage that our neighbors in the Texas Hill Country have endured,” according to the statement. “We are especially devastated to hear about the children who are still missing and we are praying they are reunited with their families soon.”

Several Houston-area residents are among those who were reported dead or missing in the Central Texas floods over the weekend.
