New Top Level Managerial Outlook for the Dallas Mavericks

DALLAS – (WBAP/KLIF) A massive shakeup for the Dallas Mavericks is reported in the works, with General Manager Nico Harrison, made famous by his dubious trade of Luca Doccic last season, reported fired. Criticism has not died down as the Mavs push for wins at the start of the season.

The team is reported to be waiting for the annoucement of the appointment of Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi to lead basketball operations in the interim.

52- year old Finley played for the Mavericks from 1996 through 2005, selected to play in the 2000 All Star game. In 2005, he was waived by the Mavs and became an unrestricted free agent, playing for the San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics. Then, he became assistant general manager and vice president of player personnel for the Mavs. He’s been with the team since 2013.

Matt Riccardi’s been Assistant General Manager with Dallas, first joining the team in fall of 2022 as Senior Director of Pro Personnel. Ahead of that, he spent a dozen years working with the Brooklyn Nets, rising to the post of Director of Scouting Operations.
