Weekend Worthy: Explore sounds at new audio-based exhibition in east Fort Worth

Happy Thursday, *|FNAME|*.

Are you looking to experience an audio-focused exhibition for the first time? If so, you have the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in sound with the opening of “The Art of Listening” at Tubman Gallery.

The east Fort Worth art gallery will turn up the volume Black Friday by spotlighting live performances, archival music and art programming that explores sound. Find out which artists are participating below.

Also, the Parade of Lights is ready to light up downtown Fort Worth streets this Sunday at 6 p.m. The event was postponed due to heavy rain and storms that poured down last week. My colleague Maria Crane and I will be there to cover the event for Monday’s edition.

Close your eyes, focus on sounds at new exhibition

The opening reception features live performances from New Orleans-based ÌFÉ, a musician who blends Afro-Cuban folklore with modern Jamaican dancehall and electronics. Other participating artists include Minister Leo Vaughns Jr. and Set De Flo. The exhibition runs through Jan. 16.
