New videos released in Dallas Cowboys player’s death

Newly-released videos are providing the most detailed look at the chase and search that led up to the death of a Dallas Cowboys football player.

Marshawn Kneeland took his own life earlier this month.

The hours of video released by the Texas Department of Public Safety take place over about a three-hour time frame.

It begins at about 10:30 p.m. on November 5 on the Dallas North Tollway, where, according to an arrest report, a trooper saw a black Dodge Charger speeding northbound near Keller Springs Boulevard.

Another trooper begins to follow and reports seeing the car making several unsafe lane changes a speeds faster than 145 miles per hour, the report said.

“He passed me going about a buck 32,” one officer is heard saying on camera.

Another says, “He got above 160 when I was chasing him.”

The Charger exits the Tollway at Headquarters Drive, fails to yield to lights and siren before a trooper says he lost sight of the car near The Star in Frisco.

Rooftop video shows the car then sideswipe a truck before crashing into a small field.

“I just saw in my rearview coming as fast as he was and he just plowed into me,” the truck’s unidentified driver says on body-worn camera.

When troopers arrive on scene, the car’s driver is gone but they say an empty holster was found inside it.

Rooftop video shows someone running from the car after the crash and across a parking lot toward businesses south of Warren Parkway.

“When I heard who it was, I was like, ‘Nah’,” an officer is heard saying on camera.

For more than two hours, law enforcement searched high and low for the driver, whom they identified as Kneeland.

His girlfriend, later revealed to be pregnant with Kneeland’s child. also arrived on scene.

“She says he is armed and he is a mental health concern,” an officer says.

Police pinged Kneeland’s phone, which was in the area being searched.

He was found at about 1:30 a.m. in a portable toilet, dead from apparent suicide.
