Dallas designer’s heartfelt plea for missing gowns

A Dallas dress designer says she is at the end of her rope trying to track down two missing dresses.

The gowns, which she says are worth thousands of dollars, seemingly disappeared in the mail, and the Dallas-based designer, Lyza Faye, is desperate to get them back.

From pageants to proms, weddings to parties, Faye has been creating original dresses for more than a decade.

“They’re very meaningful because I put in my sweat. They’re dresses that I spend a lot of time on, and it’s so sad that this is happening,” said Faye.

She said a gold and red gown, and another black dress trimmed with feathers that was once worn by a Real Housewife, were both mailed back to her office last month after being used in an unrelated photo shoot.

She said they were scheduled to arrive on Thanksgiving.

“I checked the mail and nothing,” explained Faye.

She said she checked the tracking number which showed the dresses had been delivered earlier that week and were signed for by someone she doesn’t know.

“So that’s when I started looking for it, contacted FedEx and they said it’s been delivered, and that’s when this whole debacle started,” said Faye.

She said she’s tried with no luck to figure out through FedEx and on her own where the dresses were delivered.

“Do an actual investigation. Don’t just send me back whatever I can find online because that’s what they sent me back,” said Faye.

NBC 5 contacted FedEx, which said, “We will work directly with the customer to address the issue.”

During our interview at Faye’s office on Thursday, someone from FedEx showed up and said the package had been delivered to the building, but to the wrong suite.

The business at the suite where it was supposedly delivered was closed at the time and so far, no one has returned NBC 5’s call or messages.

The FedEx worker said he’d follow up to help pin down the missing dresses.

Faye says she’s thankful they’re taking action.

“It’s really devastating because anybody that knows a creative person knows that what they create means a lot to them. You put a lot of tears and sweat,” said Faye. “I want my dresses back.”
