Apple Quietly Discontinued 25 Devices in 2025: Is Your iPhone on The List?

In 2025, Apple quietly discontinued over 20 devices as part of its regular product refresh cycle, replacing many older models with newer versions that offer the latest features and performance upgrades. As the year draws to a close, buyers should note that several Apple products are no longer available through official Apple stores and may now only be accessible via third-party or secondary retailers.

Apple has continued to refine its product lineup in 2025, consciously evolving its design philosophy and hardware strategy based on changing customer expectations from a premium electronics brand. A recent MacRumors report highlights how this approach has led to the quiet discontinuation of several familiar Apple products as newer, more advanced versions take their place.

The biggest changes came to Apple’s iPhone lineup, with multiple older-generation models being phased out. Devices such as the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, along with the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 14, 14 Plus, and the iPhone SE, were discontinued as Apple pushed customers toward its latest-generation smartphones, including the iPhone 17 series and the new iPhone 16e.

Apple also streamlined its iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac portfolios in 2025. Several iPad models with older chips were retired in favour of upgraded versions, while the Apple Watch lineup saw the Ultra 2, Series 10, and SE 2 replaced by newer generations. On the Mac side, Apple discontinued multiple MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio configurations, shifting focus to systems powered by newer Apple silicon.

Beyond core devices, Apple ended sales of a range of accessories and emerging products as well. This included older AirPods Pro, the Vision Pro with an earlier chip, legacy MagSafe chargers, power adapters, and Lightning-based cables and converters. Together, these changes reflect Apple’s broader move toward a cleaner, more future-ready ecosystem built around updated hardware standards and technologies.
