A Sneak Peek at COTALAND, the Upcoming Theme Park at Circuit of The Americas

As of now, thrill seekers in Austin must drive more than 80 miles to enjoy a proper theme park. But that’s set to change in 2026, as COTALAND plans to bring 30 attractions across 30 acres at Circuit of The Americas. While the park still hasn’t announced an official launch date, representatives hosted a ceremony in August to commemorate the final bolt being tightened on Circuit Breaker, the park’s first roller coaster. Below, we look at the details of that historic milestone and two more key attractions that have already broken ground.

Circuit Breaker

A tangle of spiraling track that takes riders through four inversions and two tunnels, this coaster will reach speeds of nearly 60 mph. And that’s not even the most exhilarating part. After climbing its initial hill, the cart stalls while the track disconnects and tilts forward to rejoin with a separate set of rails. Riders are held at a 90-degree angle to the ground for a moment before they plummet down the vertical drop. Circuit Breaker is Texas’ first tilt coaster and just the second in the U.S., but anyone nervous about testing the innovative engineering can rest assured that the company who designed it, Vekona, also built one of the first tilt coasters ever in Taiwan back in 2002.

Palindrome

As the name implies, this coaster’s path takes riders through more than 1,200 feet of track and multiple inversions before doing it all over again in reverse. But the most unique part of the ride is that it features a zero-g stall as riders pass over Circuit of The Americas Boulevard, making it one of the only coasters in the country to pass over an active road. The ride might not quite match the 200+ mph of F1 cars, but it still promises to deliver plenty of thrills.

The Soggy Logger

Is a theme park really complete without some version of a log flume? This iteration culminates in a five-story drop and features a Hill Country theme to tie into its Texas locale. COTALAND officials say the ride will begin testing soon as it nears completion.
