Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail
What’s this? What’s this? Yes, Tim Burton fans, your time has most definitely come! Inspired by the timeless ’90s classic, this immersive experience will feature more than 8,300 square feet of dazzling light installations as you enter the world of Jack Skellington. Look for Sally, Zero, Oogie Boogie, and all the other iconic characters of The Nightmare Before Christmas as you explore Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at night. Sept. 25-Nov. 30

Pumpkin Nights
Oh my gourd! Get ready for fire dancers, tarot card readings, a live pumpkin artist, and more at this outdoor festival filled with carved, painted, and all-natural pumpkins. Bring walking shoes to traverse the grounds at Pioneer Farms, which has special sections like Spider Alley, the Forbidden City, and the Enchanted Forest. The event tends to sell out, so snag your tickets online in advance. Sept. 18-Oct. 31

Uhland Fall Fest
A perfect event for families, this nearby festival features 50 fall-inspired activities and attractions to entertain little ones and adults alike. Celebrate the season with a corn pit, camel rides, giant air pillow, bubble extravaganza, and pumpkin jamboree. Sept. 27-28, Oct. 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 25-26, Nov. 1-2

Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics
Treat your senses to a night of flickering lights and eerie live music at this immersive event at St. David’s Episcopal Church. During the concert, the Austin Camerata String Quartet will play creepy classics like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” the Stranger Things and Addams Family theme songs, and Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells” (the theme from The Exorcist). The Austin Séance
Ready for some paranormal activity? Join hosts Albert Lucio and Jake Cordero as they demonstrate tools used by mediums and recreate the experience of an old-time séance at various venues around Central Texas. Various dates including Oct. 25-26 and 30-31.

Returning to King Bee for another season, this spine-tingling pop-up will feature Halloween-themed cocktails, haunting decor, and all-around high spirits. Harvest of Fall Fun
While Sweet Berry Farm is best known for berry and flower picking in the spring and summertime, the adorable Marble Falls destination also turns into an autumn wonderland starting this month. Gear up for a lively day of hayrides, mazes, pumpkin painting, and scarecrow stuffing. The farm also has a large selection of pumpkins and gourds for sale to take home. Pro tip: Check the online calendar to see when the crowds will be the least busy—and take note that it is closed on Wednesdays. Mid-September to late November
