Apple is set to expand its retail footprint in India with a new store planned for Hyderabad, as indicated by recent job listings on its careers portal. The company has begun hiring for key roles including Store Leader, Senior Manager, and Genius, pointing to its next physical retail push in one of India’s fastest-growing tech hubs. This comes as Apple prepares to open another store in Mumbai next month. Since Apple usually starts hiring nearly a year ahead of a store launch, the Hyderabad outlet is likely to open in early 2027.

Apple’s latest retail push comes months after it inaugurated its Noida store in December, marking its third store launch in 2025 and reinforcing its position among India’s top five smartphone brands by volume. Apple has repeatedly underlined that its growing physical presence reflects a long-term commitment to the Indian market, with another Mumbai store set to open soon.

In December, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and People, Deirdre O’Brien, told MoneyControl that the company’s next phase of expansion signals sustained investment in India. She highlighted Apple’s 25-year journey in the country and noted that the upcoming Mumbai outlet would further strengthen customer connections as Apple’s retail journey expands “with energy and purpose.”
Apple entered India’s physical retail space in 2023 with flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi, following the launch of its online store in 2020. Since then, it has expanded steadily with outlets in Bengaluru, Pune and Noida. India has also been a testing ground for exclusive retail initiatives, including becoming the second market globally to offer Shop with a Specialist over Video, alongside services such as Personal Setup, Trade In, iOS switching support and Today at Apple sessions.
The retail expansion mirrors Apple’s broader momentum in India, driven by rising demand, deeper distribution and local manufacturing. Counterpoint Research reported 28 percent year-on-year shipment growth for Apple in India in 2025, far outpacing the overall market. The iPhone 16 emerged as the top-shipped model during the year, while Apple CEO Tim Cook recently described India as a major growth engine, citing record December-quarter revenues and a large base of first-time Apple customers that underscores the company’s long-term growth potential.
