Chantel Christie Explains Fight With Jackie On ‘Basketball Wives’ Finale

Chantel Christie didn’t shy away from saying her time on ‘Basketball Wives LA’ didn’t pan out how she hoped. Still, she said she’s “100% focused” on nurturing the relationships close to her. In the season finale, Chantel confirmed that she had not spoken to her mother, Jackie Christie, since the Hawaii incident, and “maybe never will.”

“I think that if there’s one thing that I could say. I take accountability for where I went wrong,” Chantel Christie said, wiping away tears. “And even though this whole situation was my worst nightmare, I wish the best for her. It doesn’t make sense, but the reality is if your mother is not Jackie Christie, you will never understand.”

To recap, the mother and daughter were having a tense chat in Jackie’s hotel room. Then, the conversation escalated to name-calling, Jackie booting her daughter from the room, and Chantel started leaving before turning around to say Jackie looks “stupid.” She added, “Look how you look as a mother, Jackie,” which caused her to stand up to usher her daughter to the door. That led to Chantel later pushing her mother against the wall after their arms touched, and Jackie swinging at her, before production stepped in and separated them.

Here’s What Chantel Christie Previously Said

As mentioned, Chantel Christie previously addressed the physical altercation between her and Jackie after the episode featuring it aired. She shared a lengthy statement on Instagram Stories, admitting she’s not proud of all her choices on the latest season of ‘Basketball Wives.’ However, she added that it’s her “real life.” Despite the hate she allegedly received, Chantel said she also received messages from others who could relate to her.

In her previous statement, Chantel also mentioned Jackie’s actions and alleged toxicity, like her comments on the season finale. She called the situation a “masterclass in narcissism” and accused her mother of “lighting the fire behind the scenes, then walking away so you look like the arsonist.”  At the time, she claimed that she pushed Jackie off of her for touching her arm.

“It’s unfortunate things played out this way, and I wish it never happened, but if you knew our history, then you’d know this was a long time coming.”

Takari Lee Took Jackie Christie’s Side

Takari Lee, sister to Chantel Christie, has reacted at least three times to what happened between her family members. Her first written reaction appeared on Instagram and accused Chantel of not knowing their mom. She wrote that Jackie “didn’t deserve to be done like this on her platform…that’s all I have to say about this.” She also filmed a TikTok video seemingly shading the situation.

Then, while speaking on the ‘Make It Make Sense’ podcast, Takari claimed her “stomach hurt” when she first saw the fight on TV. “…and I just wanted to reassure my mom,” Lee said.
