Construction underway on Frisco’s first Whole Foods Market

The Whole Foods Market will anchor a new upscale retail center called The Mix, a 112-acre mixed-use community.

FRISCO, Texas — After years of anticipation, Frisco is finally getting its first Whole Foods Market, and it’s arriving as part of a major new development that’s now officially under construction.

The new store will anchor the retail portion of The Mix, a massive $3 billion, 112-acre mixed-use community located at Dallas Parkway and Lebanon Road. This will be the first Whole Foods location in Frisco, and it’s part of a larger vision to bring an upscale, experience-driven destination to North Texas.

“We’re excited to welcome Frisco’s first Whole Foods Market to The Mix,” said Tim Campbell, head of development for The Mix. “Whole Foods Market has remained committed to this site and Frisco for more than 10 years and will be a great asset to The Mix and our community.”

City officials have welcomed the news with enthusiasm, calling the long-anticipated arrival of the natural and organic foods retailer a win for local residents.

“The community has been asking for this unique shopping experience for years, and we are excited to see it come to fruition…and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on our city,” said Frisco City Council Member John Keating.

The Whole Foods store is part of the first phase of construction at The Mix, which began in January 2025. This phase covers 28 acres and will include about 100,000 square feet of retail space, 115,000 square feet of Class A office space, 635 residential units, and a portion of an 8-acre central park.

In a press release, city officials said The Mix is aiming to create more than just another shopping center — it’s designed to be a vibrant, walkable community hub that blends nature, sustainability, and modern architecture.

Located in Frisco’s fast-growing North Platinum Corridor, The Mix will eventually feature more than 2 million square feet of office space, 375,000 square feet of retail, two hotels, and over 3 million square feet of residential space.

The retail space, including the future Whole Foods Market, was designed by Arcadis, a global design and consultancy firm. The architect said the inspiration came straight from the North Texas landscape.
