Police say 33-year-old Teray Sam murdered Olivia Rodriguez on June 2.
DALLAS — A man is facing a murder charge in connection with the killing of a 30-year-old woman in Dallas, police say.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to a call in the 7900 block of Forest Lane, just off U.S. 75, at about 8 p.m. June 2. There, DPD said officers found a woman unresponsive inside a home.
The department said once Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded, the woman was pronounced dead.
Police identified the woman as 30-year-old Olivia Leann Rodriguez. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office determined she was killed.
DPD announced on June 3 that 33-year-old Teray Montrell Sam was arrested and charged with murder. Police also noted that the pair knew each other.
Jail records show Sam is currently being held in the North Tower Detention Facility in Dallas and has a $1 million bond. He was indicted for the crime in July, jail records show.
Dallas PD said the investigation into Rodriguez’s death is ongoing. A GoFundMe has been established to help cover funeral costs for Rodriguez’s family.
