Dallas police officer arrested for theft, department confirms

The officer was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, police say.

DALLAS — A Dallas police officer was arrested for a warrant for theft of property between $30,000 and $150,000, the department confirmed. 

Dallas Police Department Senior Cpl. Le Chau turned himself in to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Thursday for a DPD warrant for theft of property between $30,000 and $150,000, a third-degree felony, officials say. 

Chau has worked for the Dallas Police Department since 2013 and is assigned to the department’s Basic Academy, according to DPD.

Chau was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, DPD said. 

No other details were immediately available.
