Dwight Howard Reportedly Denies Ex Amy Luciani’s Claims Of Domestic Violence And Allegedly Spiking Her Drink

Dwight Howard and his estranged wife Amy Luciani are in a heated showdown following their split last month. According to a new report, Amy reportedly filed for a protective order amid Dwight’s divorce filing, making a string of allegations about the athlete, including claims of an incident where he allegedly spiked her drink. While the petition has since been dismissed, the recently obtained court documents are coming to light.

Amy Luciani Claims Dwight Howard Allegedly Drugged Her

She reportedly made a string of accusations in her June 27 protective order petition, alleging that Dwight showed erratic behavior. In paperwork obtained by Us Magazine, she alleged how he tricked her, recalling, “He has given me something he claimed was a holistic tea, and it was really a drug called Molly.” She said she got “extremely sick” and begged for an EMT. But Dwight allegedly refused to help. Amy, whose real name is Amber, while drunk or high, claimed Dwight had gotten physical with her in the past. She also described him as “obsessive” and jealous.

Allegations Of Abuse Pile Up

But Amy’s petition was far from done. In the docs, she also claimed Dwight allegedly had a “pattern of continued substance abuse” that led to violence. She alleged, “Whenever my husband gets upset, he locks me out of our home,” forcing her to call the police multiple times after he changed the gate code to block her. Amy also accused Dwight of getting physical with her, claiming he allegedly pushed her out of their bedroom and even put his full weight on her to stop her from getting up during arguments. While a judge reportedly granted her a temporary protective order, Amy reportedly ended up dropping it.

Dwight’s Team Addresses Amy Luciani’s Claims

The ex-NBA star’s lawyer, Gillian B. Fierer, has since issued a statement to Us Magazine, explaining why Dwight’s ex may have dropped the petition. “Since the beginning of the parties’ relationship, [Amber] has manufactured truths and manipulated reality.” Fierer called Amy Luciani the “volatile, aggressive, and assaultive” one. She said Amy’s family violence claims were “patently false,” and that’s why Amy didn’t pursue the protective order… because she allegedly couldn’t prove it. Fierer added:

“[Dwight] emphatically denies [Amber’s] claims, and we look forward to the truth being revealed. We are disappointed that what should have been a very simple divorce due to the short nature of this marriage is now being expanded into contentious litigation, but this behavior and these actions are consistent with [Amber’s] character, or lack thereof.”

Amy Luciani Filed For Divorce

Amy officially filed for divorce from Dwight on July 1, sparking a heated court battle between the two about who gets what. The former basketball player reportedly requested temporary and exclusive use of his Georgia mansion, which he had purchased before the wedding. Dwight also wanted Amy to be restrained from selling any marital property. Meanwhile, Amy called the marriage irretrievably broken and demanded alimony and a fair split of assets. It’s worth mentioning that neither Dwight nor Amber has commented on the report.
