Former pals Elon Musk and Sam Altman are sparring again on X/Twitter.
The mudslinging started a while ago with Altman’s decision to turn OpenAI into a for-profit firm, while the AI company received significant investment from Satya Nadella-led Microsoft. Musk, who was also a cofounder but left the board to not have a conflict of interest and objected to Altman’s decision, which came in the wake of ChatGPT’s immense popularity. The duo have seldom been on the same page and never reconciled, and the drama continues on the public square of the internet for all to witness. Sam Altman alleged that his order for a Tesla EV never occurred. Sharing the screenshots of the mail, he wrote in two tweets,
A tale in three acts. I really was excited for the car! And I understand delays. But 7.5 years has felt like a long time to wait.
Reacting to Altman’s accusation, Elon Musk jibed,
You stole a nonprofit.
He further clarified
And you forgot to mention act 4, where this issue was fixed and you received a refund within 24 hours.
