Friday Night Football: Here’s the full 2025 schedule of games you can watch on WFAA+

It’s almost time for some Friday Night Football! Here’s every team scheduled to appear on our broadcasts.

DALLAS — You can watch the game live on our streaming platform WFAA+, which is available on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. Click here to learn how to download WFAA+ to your TV.

Two defending state champions, two other teams that played in the state title game in 2024, and five matchups of Top 10 teams spotlight the 2025 broadcast schedule for WFAA’s Friday Night Football, which is set to kick off on Aug. 29.

This season marks the eighth year of WFAA streaming broadcasts of local high school football games and you can watch every one of them live on our WFAA+ streaming app.

The slate begins Week 1 with a matchup of teams ranked in the Top 5 in the state in their respective classifications, as No. 5 Argyle plays host to No. 4 Frisco Lone Star in a non-district clash of state title contenders in 5A.

The schedule also features two of the most prominent rivalries in the state, and they come in consecutive weeks in early October. No. 1 Aledo visits No. 3 Denton Ryan in the premium matchup within 5A-Division I this season. Aledo staged a dramatic comeback victory on their home field on Friday Night Football last October. Denton Ryan then got revenge, knocking Aledo out of the playoffs in November.

The next week, Duncanville and Desoto square off in the latest installment of their rivalry. 2025 marks the fifth consecutive season the two premier squads have faced off on Friday Night Football.

In Week 2 of the season, Friday Night Football will broadcast the always-anticipated matchup between South Oak Cliff and Duncanville. Both teams figure to be state title contenders once again.

On Sept. 12, it’s a neutral site matchup between a pair of defending state champions, as 4A-Division I reigning champion Celina, ranked preseason No. 1 in it’s classification, takes on 3A-Division II reigning champion Gunter. The Tigers, despite an offseason coaching change, remain No. 1 in their classification as well.

The Southlake Carroll Dragons made it to the 6A-Division II state championship game in 2024, and they open 2025 as the No. 1 team in the state in 6A. They’ll face No. 14 Euless Trinity in a game that figures to decide a district champion on Sept. 19.

On Sept. 26, we’ll see a matchup of two elite small-school programs, as Alvarado, fresh off a 13-1 campaign in 2024, plays host to a terrific Glen Rose program.  The two played an epic shootout in 2024, with Alvarado winning 71-50.

On Oct. 17, we take a trip to the deepest district in all of Texas high school football: District 4-5A Division II. Five bonafide playoff quality teams reside in that district, and will spend all season battling for the four playoff spots. Propser Walnut Grove hosts Anna on Oct. 17 in a game that will factor prominently in that jockeying for position.

The next week, we feature two teams that have never been spotlighted on Friday Night Football before, as Carrollton Creekview hosts West Mesquite. The two teams were part of a three-team battle atop District 6-5A Division I last year, and figure to battle for the top spot again.

The season wraps up on Nov. 7 at Highland Park’s historic Highlander Stadium, as the Scots host Midlothian in a matchup of the top two teams in District 7-5A Division I.

WFAA Sports Anchor Mike Leslie and Hek’ma Harrison will once again comprise the Friday Night Football broadcast team, working together for a fourth consecutive season in the booth.

The penultimate game of the regular season will feature Harrison calling his son’s senior night, as Hek’ma Harrison, Jr., will play wide receiver for the Sachse Mustangs again this fall.

Harrison played linebacker at Lincoln High School in Dallas before playing college football at both Kansas State and UNT.
