George Floyd’s Brother Weighs In On Lil Yachty’s Viral Verse

Days after Lil Yachty shook up social media with a verse name-dropping George Floyd, his brother Terrence Floyd came through with some words for the rapper. Journalist and Power 105.1 radio co-host Loren Losa got an exclusive statement from Terrence, who called the move straight-up inconsiderate and said Yachty should’ve never mentioned his late brother.

“Sometimes this generation doesn’t pay attention to what they say they just want to make a song and just get on the charts and really feel like the people listening will accept because of who he is,” Terrence said in a statement.

Additionally, Terrence said he wants Lil Yachty to change the line because it’s disrespectful to George’s legacy.

“I want the line changed. Let my brother rest in peace. It disturbs the family’s peace. There has to be a better message behind any mention of George Floyd’s name. So his legacy can live on beyond what Chauvin did to him,” he continued.

Stephen Jackson Steps In With THESE Words After Yachty’s Lyrics Go Viral

Terrence Floyd wasn’t the only one to share his opinion after Yachty’s line, “Put my knee up on her neck, I went George Floyd,” went viral. George’s friend Stephen Jackson jumped in early to react to Yachty’s words. The retired basketball player called Yachty “wack” and thought his decision to use George’s name was completely disrespectful. “Don’t ever say his name, bro. None of y’all knew G or nothing about him. But y’all want to say his name for clout. Cut that s**t, man, cause only you wack sambo n****s do s**t like that,” Jackson said in a clip.

Now, Stephen dropped another video on social media saying he chopped it with Yachty, and they managed to clear things up while he apologized for his actions. “I spoke to him, he’s a smart young man, and he’s winning for a reason. He made a mistake, he apologized… we moved on from it.”
