Google Pixel 10 Pro XL AnTuTu Scores Reveal Tensor G5 CPU Gains But GPU Falls Behind Flagship Rivals

Google’s Pixel smartphones have historically faced criticism over performance, particularly after the company moved to its in-house Tensor chipsets. The newly launched Pixel 10 series, unveiled globally last week, is the first to feature the Tensor G5 processor. While official benchmark results are yet to surface, early real-world testing from new users is now giving a clearer picture of the device’s capabilities.

A Reddit user recently shared AnTuTu results for their Pixel 10 Pro XL, revealing both encouraging improvements and concerning setbacks. The flagship handset managed an overall score of 1,173,221 points, placing it in the same bracket as devices such as the Honor 200 Pro and Motorola Edge 60 Pro, powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Dimensity 8350 chips respectively.

In terms of CPU, the Pixel 10 Pro XL reportedly achieved 415,848 points, aligning with the performance levels of newer chips like the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. This represents roughly a 15 percent improvement over the Pixel 9 Pro XL, suggesting that Google’s fifth-generation Tensor chipset has made notable strides in raw processing power.

However, the GPU results paint a different story. The Pixel 10 Pro XL, equipped with the PowerVR IMG DXT-48-1536 GPU, secured 367,206 points on AnTuTu. Comparatively, last year’s Pixel 9 Pro XL, featuring the Mali-G715 MC7, managed over 440,000 points. This indicates a nearly 20 percent drop in graphics performance, placing the Tensor G5’s GPU on par with much older processors, such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from 2021. This shortfall could affect graphics-intensive tasks like gaming or rendering, even as CPU performance keeps pace with more recent flagships.

Beyond performance metrics, the Pixel 10 Pro XL offers a premium hardware package. The device features a 6.8-inch LTPO display with a resolution of 1,344×2,992 pixels, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. On the imaging front, the phone carries a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP 5x telephoto lens, and a 48MP ultrawide shooter. Selfie enthusiasts get a high-resolution 42MP front camera.

Powering the device is a 5,200mAh battery with support for 45W wired and 25W wireless charging, ensuring all-day usability. In India, the Pixel 10 Pro XL is being retailed at Rs 1,24,999 for its sole 256GB storage variant, available in Jade, Moonstone, and Obsidian colour options.

With stronger CPU gains but weaker GPU performance, early impressions suggest that Google’s Tensor G5 may deliver balanced efficiency but might still lag behind competitors in gaming and graphics-heavy workloads.
