Granbury water main break beneath highway repaired, officials say

The city said the water main break was repaired Tuesday.

GRANBURY, Texas — A major water main break beneath US Highway Business 377 near the Brazos River bridge in Granbury that led to a disaster declaration and water restrictions has been repaired, the city announced Tuesday afternoon.

The pipe replacement was unique and complex, but staff worked through the weekend to bring everything together for the completion of this project today,” the city said in a social media post Tuesday. “All water usage may return to normal; all water restrictions are lifted. Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.”

Despite the break, recent testing confirmed Granbury’s water remains safe to drink, officials said.
