A hacking group that calls itself “Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters” comprising of the following cyber gangs, namely, Lapsus$, Scattered Spider, and ShineyHunters, claimed to have stolen about 1 billion Salesforce records.
The cybercrooks have also claimed responsibility for hacking Marks & Spencer, Co-op, and Jaguar Land Rover, per Reuters. The recent hack on Salesforce by the hackers focuses on major companies that subscribe to its CRM software.
The Scattered LUPSUS$ Hunters group also took to the darkweb and published a leak site on Friday that listed some 40 companies it allegedly hacked. Some of these companies include Google, FedEx, Hulu, Toyota Motors, Google, TransUnion, Kering, Workday, Qantas and others. The hacker’s site warns “Contact us to regain control on data governance and prevent public disclosure of your data. Do not be the next headline. All communications demand strict verification and will be handled with discretion.”
The website was first spotted by threat intelligence researchers.
Amid the reports, a Salesforce representative denied any claims of hacking, stating, “At this time, there is no indication that the Salesforce platform has been compromised, nor is this activity related to any known vulnerability in our technology.”
