Honoring Our Veterans and Continuing the Work They Fought For
This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have defended our freedoms — and we carry their spirit forward through action in our own communities. As the wife of a veteran, this day always reminds me that patriotism isn’t just about words or flags; it’s about showing up for one another, serving where we can, and protecting the rights our veterans risked their lives to secure.
This past Saturday, Indivisible Comal County powered by F.A.N. had the incredible honor of participating in the New Braunfels Veterans Day Parade. The turnout was inspiring — hundreds of people came together to celebrate our veterans and to show what unity looks like in action. I want to send my heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us, and a special shoutout to the candidates who showed up and stood with us: Bobby Cole, running for Texas Governor; Regina Vanburg from Bandera, running for Congressional District 21; Holly Taylor, candidate for Judge in the Criminal Appeals Court; and Dan Weber, also running for Congressional District 21. I had the opportunity to speak with each of them personally, and I can honestly say they’re committed to defending the values and rights our veterans fought for.
As we move forward, I want to invite everyone to join us for the upcoming Stop the Healthcare Heist Rally on Saturday, November 22nd from 10 AM – 12 PM. We’ll be gathering to demand better healthcare for working families — not less — and to ensure our leaders hear us loud and clear. At the rally, we’ll also be collecting toys and nonperishable food items to support the New Braunfels MLK Association’s Holiday Drive.
Finally, we’re looking for holiday volunteers to help us serve meals and spread hope this Christmas season. If you’d like to lend a hand, please email us at fan@indivisiblecomalcounty.org or simply reply to this message. Every act of service matters — because when we show up together, we remind the nation that our communities still care.
Thank you again to all who continue to stand up for truth, justice, and compassion. Our veterans fought for freedom — it’s our job to protect it.
