Bow, wow! Hundreds of locals and their furry best friends came out for a one-of-a-kind “spaw” day as Swift Fit Events and Austin Monthly hosted Wags & Wellness on a late September morning. Canines were treated to fun-filled and pampering experiences including pup cups, nail trims, dog jogs, pet paw-traits, splash yards, and even dog tarot card readings from Lucky Dog Tarot. Humans got to partake in cold plunges, chair massages, essential oil bars, chiro adjustments, permanent jewelry, and self-care stations while enjoying the free event. The highlight of the festival was the adorable and hilarious Dog & Owner Look-Alike, which had pooches and their owners dressing up as twins and strutting down the runway in front of the cheering crowd. Celebrity judges included Trevor Scott (co-host of We Are Austin), Kristy Owen (founder of 365 Things Austin), Clarissa Cardenas of @clarissacardenas_cq, and Marisa Iannaccone of @sparklesandatx. The whole festival benefited TRAPRS, a local nonprofit that helps foster and rescue street dogs and reunites lost canines with their owners. The nonprofit famously helped Austin Eater founder Taylor Hannan find his missing dog, Noodles, earlier this year—and Noodles even made a cameo appearance at Wags & Wellness!
