Earlier this week (July 29th), Apple Original Films unveiled the trailer for its highly anticipated new feature, The Lost Bus. The thriller will celebrate its World Premiere as a Special Presentation at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Before that, continue reading to get an early glance!
Directed by Academy Award-nominee Paul Greengrass and inspired by real events, The Lost Bus is a white-knuckle ride through one of America’s deadliest wildfires, as a wayward school bus driver and a dedicated school teacher battle to save 22 children from the terrifying inferno. The Lost Bus will debut in select theaters on September 19th, 2025, before premiering globally on Apple TV+ Friday, October 3rd, 2025.
The Lost Bus stars Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey (The Wedding Planner, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Failure to Launch) and Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner America Ferrera (Ugly Betty, Barbie, How to Train Your Dragon franchise). In addition to those two, Yul Vazquez (Bad Boys II, American Gangster, Captain Phillips), Ashlie Atkinson (The Gilded Age, And Just Like That, BlacKkKlansman) and Spencer Watson (Mr. Student Body President, Them) also star in the film.
Written by Greengrass and Brad Inglesby, who also serve as producers, The Lost Bus is produced by Gregory Goodman, Jason Blum (for Blumhouse Productions), and Jamie Lee Curtis (for Comet Pictures). The film is executive produced by Amy Lord and Lizzie Johnson, author of “’Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire.”
