Three banana emojis? Alphabet and Google CEO, Sundar Pichai caught the internet at large on X/Twitter with his latest tweet.
The internet erupted in memes and speculations over Pichai’s post. Some argued that probably the account was hacked but suspiciously it wasn’t any bitcoin related post. Others rubbed their eyes in utter shock, checking twice if it was a parody Pichai account. One user jibed, “Quality content from the CEO of one of the biggest companies on planet Earth.” Another quipped, “Checked twice to see it’s real or parody account.” Yet another user remarked, “Sundar Pichai explaining what kind of republic we have.”

Meanwhile Google Gemini App’s social media account reacted to Pichai’s post and wrote, “Let the fun begin .” Another banana emoji? So that wasn’t a random post from the Google boss’s account, was it? The Silicon Valley tech giant’s AI division, DeepMind, took to X/Twitter and stated, “Image generation with Gemini just got a bananas upgrade and is the new state-of-the-art image generation and editing model.”
It added, “From photorealistic masterpieces to mind-bending fantasy worlds, you can now natively produce, edit and refine visuals with new levels of reasoning, control and creativity.”
Chief AI scientist and Nobel Laureate CEO of DeepMind, Demis Hassabis further explained,
The new Gemini 2.5 image model is by far the best out there with a whopping +180 ELO point lead in image editing & it really excels at character consistency. Available for free in the @GeminiApp right now. Try uploading an image & playing around with it, it’s pretty amazing!”
