According to leaker Majin Bu, Apple is reportedly preparing a new MagSafe accessory for its upcoming iPhone 17 lineup, called the TechWoven case. Expected to be made from sustainable materials, the case may be offered in five colour options — Black, Brown, Blue, Green, and Purple. This move could signal Apple’s continued push toward eco-friendly designs across its product ecosystem.

While images shared so far only show the TechWoven case for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the accessory is expected to be available across the entire iPhone 17 lineup. The leaked design suggests a non-slip, fabric-like texture for enhanced grip, as well as two lanyard holes on each side, potentially improving usability and convenience.
Since Apple has not officially confirmed either the iPhone 17 series or the TechWoven case, the information remains speculative. However, the leak highlights Apple’s ongoing experimentation with sustainable MagSafe-compatible accessories, following its earlier attempts to replace leather with alternative materials.

In 2023, Apple introduced its FineWoven cases for the iPhone 15 series, built with “durable micro-twill” material and marketed as having a soft, suede-like finish. However, reviews found the FineWoven cases disappointing, citing rough texture, sharp cutouts, and a lack of premium feel. The accompanying MagSafe wallet worked well but had limitations when paired with non-FineWoven cases.
Apple is expected to officially unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 9. Reports suggest the lineup will include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, alongside a new iPhone 17 Air model that could replace the Plus variant. If the TechWoven case leak proves accurate, it could be one of Apple’s key eco-friendly accessory highlights during the launch event.
