Jayla Rhodes is the Social Media Coordinator for Houston Public Media, where she creates engaging digital content for the station’s social platforms. She produces daily posts that capture the news and editorial pulse of the day, with a strong emphasis on visual storytelling for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube Shorts. She first joined Houston Public Media in June 2025 as a newsroom intern before transitioning to a full-time position in October 2025. During her internship, she produced standout projects including the Beyoncé Cowboy Carter style guide and “A Day in the Life of a Houston Public Media Intern.”
A native of Houston, she earned her degree in Media Production from the University of Houston, with a minor in Graphic Communication Technology, and is currently pursuing an additional degree in Mobile and Web Development. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
