Uber has significantly expanded its Intercity service to over 3,000 routes across India, marking a 50% growth in its city-to-city travel offerings. To enhance the travel experience, the company has also launched a limited-period feature, custom-designed Uber Intercity Motorhomes, starting in Delhi NCR. Popular routes like Mumbai-Pune, Delhi-Agra, Bangalore-Mysore, Lucknow-Kanpur, and Ahmedabad-Vadodara have seen the highest demand, especially during long weekends and holidays.
Uber revealed that Fridays were the most popular day for travel, with riders typically choosing to depart early in the morning or during the quieter 2–3 PM window. Demand spiked during major festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Eid, as well as during the busy summer wedding season.

Uber notes a rise in round-trip bookings for leisure, pilgrimages, and events, while one-way rides continue to serve travelers visiting family or friends, attending business meetings, or heading to airports and railway stations. As part of a limited-period campaign, Uber has introduced custom-designed Intercity Motorhomes on select routes starting from Delhi-NCR. These Motorhomes offer features like advance booking through Uber Reserve, real-time tracking, stop additions, and 24/7 support.

Available from August 7 to September 6 (with bookings starting August 4), the Intercity Motorhomes offer a premium travel experience with space for 4–5 riders, assisted by a driver and helper. Riders can enjoy a lounge-on-wheels experience with amenities like a TV, lavatory, microwave, and mini-fridge. Uber aims to showcase how tech-enhanced travel can elevate the long-distance road trip, making it more flexible, luxurious, and memorable.
Shweta Mantri, Head of Rider Verticals, Uber India and South Asia, stated, “More and more people are choosing to hit the road for quick getaways, family visits, or even business meetings, and they want travel that’s easy, reliable, and comfortable. That’s exactly what Uber Intercity offers, and with the expansion of routes we’re doubling down on transforming outstation road travel for millions.”
