AUSTIN, Texas – Austin police are looking for a man connected to multiple mail theft cases in east Austin.
What we know:
APD says in every case, the suspect, wearing a glow vest and looking down at his phone, walked up the front door of a home in broad daylight, then picked up a package and left.
He appeared to be driving a black SUV, potentially a Chevrolet Equinox.
One of the thefts was reported on Dec. 27 around 10:10 a.m. in the 7800 block of Saddle Up Drive, in a neighborhood off Decker Lane near the Travis County Expo Center.
The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern man between 30 and 50 years old, approximately 150 lbs and between 5’4″ and 5’6″. He was last seen wearing rectangular glasses with black rims, a black T-shirt, black athletic shorts, black slide sandals, and a green North Texas hat worn backwards.
His vehicle is described as a Chevrolet Equinox between model years 2018 and 2022 with dark rims and tint.
