Missing Dog of Local Influencer Austin Eater Is Found Safe

It’s the good news the city has been hoping for, especially in the wake of a devastating July: Noodles, the 8-year-old terrier mix of Austin Eater founder Taylor Hannan, has been reunited with his owner.

Hannan shared the news on social media Thursday night with a triumphant post saying  “Thank You Austin: Noodles Is Back!”

Searching For Clues

On July 25, Hannan had been preparing to leave for a road trip to Indiana around 4:57 a.m., and Noodles was in the vehicle. While the car was running, he went into his Southeast Austin apartment to grab Noodles’ bed. As he returned, he saw someone wearing a black hoodie jump into the car and speed away.

Though the car had been discovered on Saturday in Cedar Creek—“busted, gutted, and completely undrivable,” Hannah noted in an Instagram post—his dog was still missing.

Working with local rescue group TRAPRS and a private investigator, Hannan also got the community involved in the search. After getting a DM from someone who was certain they had spotted the dog in Del Valle, Hannan searched the area to no avail, but he mentioned the tip to the investigator later that day.

“He said, ‘Hell, it’s on my way home. I’ll go check,’” Hannan noted on the Instagram post. “Ten minutes later…. He called me. He found Noodles.”

Together at Last

After reuniting with his beloved pup, Hannan met up with the TRAPRS team and took him to the vet, where the dog received IV fluids and X Rays. Since his recovery, the Austin Eater blogger has shared a fundraiser for TRAPRS, which has already raised more than $7,000. As timing would have it, Noodles was reunited with his owner on the dog’s birthday. To donate to the fundraiser, click here.
