More than 30,000 CenterPoint Energy customers were out of power across the Houston area early Monday as thunderstorms rolled in.

A temporary ground stop was issued at the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston around 10:30 a.m. on Monday due to thunderstorms, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

A ground stop was also issued at the William P. Hobby Airport in southeast Houston just after 10:30 a.m. Monday. The stops were still in place just before 11 a.m.

Weather radars showed a line of thunderstorms sweeping in from northwest Houston just after 10 a.m. Monday. The storms will be moving through the I-10 corridor with winds reaching up to 40 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

This is a developing story.
