Multiple protesters detained after they ‘gained access into a building’ in Dallas, police say

Police did not specify how many were detained.

DALLAS — Multiple protestors were detained Friday afternoon after police said they “gained access into a building” in Dallas.

The protestors were a part of the “Stop Starving Gaza Now!” protest, which had a goal of gathering a large presence outside of Boston Consulting Group’s building, located at 2501 N. Harwood St., as organizers claimed it had a significant role in creating famine in Gaza, according to a news release from the Palestinian Youth Movement.

According to the Dallas Police Department, around 4:45 p.m., demonstrators from the protest gained access to the building, and while officers attempted to arrest them, an “unruly crowd” gathered.

Police said additional officers were requested as the crowd continued to grow and that multiple people were detained, although they didn’t specify how many.

The Palestinian Youth Movement posted a video on Instagram that appeared to show several protestors detained.

“Over a dozen protesters were arrested for disrupting the Boston Consulting Group, the company that designed the famine in Gaza,” the organization said in the post. “The protestors participated in a sit-in to disrupt all business as usual for those complicit in genocide.”

This is a developing story.
