She asks for compassion and privacy as Hogan’s loved ones face the difficult days ahead.
WASHINGTON — Hulk Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily Hogan, is speaking out after the sudden loss of her husband. The wrestling icon and global superstar passed away Thursday morning at the age of 71.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Sky opened up about the immense grief she’s experiencing, writing, “I wasn’t ready for this… and my heart is in pieces.”
Though Hogan had been privately battling health issues, Sky said she believed he would pull through. “I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time,” she wrote.
“This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.”
Authorities confirmed that first responders were called to the couple’s Clearwater, Florida home just before 10 a.m. Thursday for a cardiac arrest. Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m. Eastern. Police say no foul play is suspected.
Sky reflected on Hogan’s unwavering dedication to his fans, even in declining health. “Despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him,” she wrote.
She also shared that Hogan was a man of faith and she takes comfort “knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home,” Sky said.
She concluded her message with a request for compassion and space as she and Hogan’s loved ones face the difficult days ahead, writing, “Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality.”
Hogan, one of the most recognizable figures in professional wrestling and a WWE Hall of Famer, had remained active behind the scenes in recent years, launching a new wrestling venture and serving as a mentor for the next generation.
