Disney fans, get ready! Walt Disney Animation Studios just released a new trailer for Zootopia 2, giving audiences another look at the highly anticipated sequel to the Oscar award-winning original film. Read more and watch inside.
Slated to hit theaters November 26, the film reunites fan-favorite duo Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who are voiced once again by Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman. These two go on a fresh new adventure in the bustling animal metropolis of Zootopia.
Following their success in cracking the city’s biggest case, Judy and Nick are now partners in the Zootopia Police Department. But things take a comedic turn when Chief Bogo (Idris Elba) enrolls the pair in the Partners in Crisis counseling program, forcing them to confront just how strong their bond really is. However, there’s little time for self-reflection when a mysterious venomous snake slithers into town, prompting a high-stakes investigation that will put their teamwork—and the city’s safety—to the test.
Director Jared Bush, who helmed the original film and now serves as Walt Disney Animation Studios’ chief creative officer, shared his excitement.
“It’s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special,” Bush shared. “And so exciting to expand the world with our phenomenal new cast members.”
Joining the voice cast this time around are Ke Huy Quan as the slithery Gary De’Snake, Fortune Feimster as Nibbles, and Quinta Brunson as the quokka therapist Dr. Fuzzby. Returning cast includes Shakira as pop icon Gazelle, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Nate Torrence, Jenny Slate, Alan Tudyk, and more.
With stunning visuals, beloved characters, and sharp humor, Zootopia 2 promises to build on the world and heart that made the original film a global phenomenon. As Disney’s 64th animated feature, the film is directed by Bush and Byron Howard and produced by Yvett Merino.
