NorthPark Center briefly evacuated due to ‘small fire’: Officials

The shopping mall, located off U.S. Highway 75, was evacuated Saturday morning out of an abundance of caution, officials said.

DALLAS — A “small fire in a back-of-house area” of NorthPark Center caused evacuations Saturday morning, the mall told WFAA.

Fire crews responded to NorthPark Center, located along U.S. Highway 75, around 11:30 a.m. Video posted to Facebook from outside of the mall showed multiple fire trucks responded to the fire. DFR quickly extinguished the fire, according to NorthPark Center officials.

The center was evacuated out of an abundance of caution, the mall said, and business resumed as normal just after noon.

“The safety of our guests is always our top priority,” the mall said in an email to WFAA.

Another video posted to X, showed people gathering outside as the mall was being evacuated:
