NY Times Bestselling Street Lit Author to Host Virtual Event Honoring DJs and Literature for the 52nd Anniversary of Hip Hop

Nationwide — In honor of Hip-Hop’s 52nd birthday, a cultural milestone born from the heart of the Black community, bestselling author and publishing mogul Wahida Clark is uniting music, literature, and legacy in a global celebration. HIP HOP 52: Salute the DJ is a nine-hour Twitch livestream featuring six legendary DJs from around the world, paying tribute to the art form that shaped generations while showcasing the power of the written word in preserving its history.

Unlike traditional Twitch ‘raid trains,’ Wahida’s Street Lit House Party delivers a ‘Live Mastermix’—a curated DJ experience with purpose. This is a space where DJs are honored with paid bookings, promoted on a global platform, and celebrated as cultural torchbearers. In a male-dominated livestream space, Street Lit House Party stands apart—not as DJs themselves, but as dedicated hosts bringing together some of the top DJs in the industry to share their craft.

Featured DJs include:

• DJ Tank (Houston) – Southern heat
• DJ Aktive (Philadelphia) – Janet Jackson’s official tour DJ bringing Tri-State energy
• Mr. Crate Digger (Sweden) – Culture curator and vinyl deep-diver
• Freddy Jay (Paris) – International vibes, universal hip-hop love
• Easy Mo Bee (Brooklyn) – Grammy-winning producer for Biggie, Tupac, Miles Davis
• Grandmaster Caz (Bronx) – Hip-hop’s founding father, lyrical architect

The event also marks the celebration of two major literary releases from Wahida Clark Presents Publishing: ‘Iconic Beats’ by Easy Mo Bee, with a foreword by Big Daddy Kane, and the remastered edition of ‘Written!’ by Grandmaster Caz, featuring a new foreword by Grandmaster Melle Mel. Both titles honor iconic pioneers whose influence shaped the culture.

For Wahida Clark, hip-hop is more than music—it’s a creative force that has inspired her to author over 20 fiction novels, each written to the rhythm and beats of the culture. Her publishing house continues this mission with a roster of hip-hop-connected titles including: ‘Baltimore Raw’ by Aisha Hall, ‘Y’all Not Gon’ Make Me Lose My Mind’ by Emilia A. Ottoo, ‘Behind the Hits’ by Drumma Boy Fresh, ‘Diary of a Pimp’s Wife’ by Karen Joy & Mr. Cheeks, ‘American D-Boy’ by Billigoat, and ‘The Delrhonda Hood Story’ by Big Fifty (adapted into a BET movie starring Remy Ma).

“Hip-Hop’s birthday comes once a year—this is the least we can do to honor the culture that gave us so much,” says Wahida. “We’re here to preserve the art, celebrate the pioneers, and pass down the stories so the next generation knows exactly where we come from.”

In addition to the music, Wahida is personally inviting her peers—fellow Street Lit legends including Sister Souljah, Teri Woods, Omar Tyree, K’wan, Al-Saadiq Banks, and more—to join the event. Each will share links to their books with a whole new audience in a celebration of the genre they helped build.

“This isn’t just about beats—it’s about books, legacy, and giving flowers while we can,” says Wahida. “Street Lit authors are cultural historians. By bringing them into Hip Hop 52, we’re showing the world that the written word is just as much a part of hip-hop’s DNA as the music itself.”

Hip Hop 52 is not just a party—it’s a cultural preservation project, a platform for artists, and a testament to the 5th element of hip-hop: Knowledge. This event is curated by Nuance Art, LLC. RSVP now to experience the fusion of beats and books, live from the Street Lit House Party stage.
