SYMONE SANDERS (HOST): It is falling apart. I just wonder, is it breaking through? I want to say do people care? But it’s like, which people? Is this breaking through in the MAGA or “America First” — I’m using air quotes for the people at home — universe, like, is this, is this coming through on Fox News? Is this coming through on the radio?
ANGELO CARUSONE (MEDIA MATTERS PRESIDENT): No, not really. It’s not now. But it’s coming through in a secondary way, which is that any of these individual stories, you can imagine a scenario six months ago where there would have been enormous pushback across MAGA media. So, ‘Oh, here’s another example of the deep state, you know, going after Trump.’ That’s not really happening. But what it is, is, in some ways, a proxy for the larger discouragement that they have about Pam Bondi. And that is breaking through. So it’s like another, a quick aside, another mess up today in New York, another in New Jersey. But these are minor things for them. The bigger thing is that somehow somebody is failing Trump. And a lot of this is animosity toward Pam Bondi. So to the extent it does break through, it tends to be about how somehow she’s not doing her job well. And that, I think, is the story here that’s percolating, that is likely to fully materialize as we head into next year.
