Dallas PD said of the 22 arrested, 19 women were charged with prostitution.
DALLAS — The Dallas Police Department arrested 22 people in the month of July during a multi-day operation targeting prostitution-related crimes.
According to the department, the Special Investigations Division and the Northwest Division Prostitution Taskforce were the primary entities involved in the operation, focused in the Northwest and Southeast Patrol Divisions.
Dallas PD said the operation resulted in a total of 22 people being arrested. Of those 22, Dallas PD said 19 were women who were charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor. According to DPD, two human traffickers were arrested for outstanding warrants and evading arrest, and one person, a gang-affiliated human trafficker, was arrested for city tickets.
“The Dallas Police Department is laser-focused on public safety and will continue to aggressively pursue those who exploit others and destabilize our neighborhoods,” Major Yancey Nelson said. “Even if we save just one person from this life, it’s worth it.
