P13.8-M meth seized in Bohol town

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Authorities seized over P13.8 million worth of suspected meth and arrested two individuals during an anti-drug operation in Barangay Songculan, Dauis town, Bohol province on Thursday morning.

The suspects, aged 39 and 37, are residents of Barangay Mantatao, Calape town, Bohol.

Recovered during the operation were approximately 2,030 grams of suspected shabu or meth with an estimated value of P13,804,000, along with buy-bust money, mobile phones, a backpack, a digital weighing scale and a motorized banca allegedly used for transporting the illicit merchandise.

Col. Arnel Banzon, Bohol police director, said the arrest of the suspects, who were billed as high-value targets, sends a strong message to law violators in the province.

“This successful operation underscores our commitment to disrupt the illegal drug trade in Bohol,” he said in a statement.

Lt. Col. Norman Nuez, provincial police spokesman, said the recent operation in Dauis “is a testament to the power of intelligence sharing and agency coordination,” urging the public “to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to help ensure a drug-free and peaceful Bohol.” /das
