Airport first responders and the Denver Fire Department responded to the American Airlines plane Saturday.
DENVER — Passengers and crew members were removed from a plane at Denver International Airport due to a problem with the aircraft Saturday.
DIA shared on social media at 3:41 p.m. Saturday that airport first responders and the Denver Fire Department responded to a “reported issue” on an American Airlines flight. The fire department said it put out a fire after responding.
The airline said flight 3023 to Miami experienced a “maintenance issue” involving an aircraft tire prior to takeoff. All passengers and crew deplaned safely, according to the airline, and the plane was taken out of service to be inspected by a maintenance team.
American Airlines said one passenger was taken to the hospital with a minor injury for further evaluation. DIA said five others were evaluated but were not transported.
The airline said 173 passengers and six crew members were on board, and that the passengers would be placed on another plane later in the day.
This is a developing situation. 9NEWS will provide more information as it is confirmed.
