A Facebook post from one of Deen’s restaurants said she’ll also continue to operate a restaurant she owns in Nashville.
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Although ex-Food Network Star Paula Deen suddenly closed two of her Georgia restaurants, including a location she opened 36-years-ago, her Tennessee eateries aren’t going anywhere.
A post from The Lady and Son’s Facebook page, one of the restaurant’s closing in Georgia, said Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen in both Pigeon Forge and Nashville, along with locations in Branson, Missouri and Myrtle Beach, will continue to operate.
“We will now focus our attention on the four Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen locations across the country, in Pigeon Forge, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, and Branson,” the post said. “We’re excited to continue visiting these restaurants regularly, starting with Branson on August 8th.”
The post didn’t say why Dean’s Savannah, Georgia restaurants, The Lady and Son’s and The Chicken Box, are closing.
Deen, who became an icon of southern cooking, was embroiled in a racism scandal after admitting to using racial slurs in the past. While the scandal killed her career as a Food Network show host, Deen still kept many of her restaurants up and running.
