Phaedra Parks responded to criticism of RHOA casting.
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans have had strong opinions about casting choices made for the upcoming season. Some are disappointed Kenya Moore will not be in the mix. She and Brit Eady confirmed their departures before Season 16 wrapped up. As we reported, Brit’s lawsuit against Bravo likely ensured neither would be returning. However, Kenya remains hopeful that she can return after the lawsuit situation has been resolved. In the meantime, K. Michelle and Pinky Cole have reportedly been made peach holders. Pinky became well known for creating the massively successful Slutty Vegan restaurant chain. K. is a singer from Memphis, Tennessee, who gained popularity as a “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” OG.
While there are RHOA fans excited to see what K. Michelle and Pinky bring to the show, some are criticizing producers for bringing in a former LHHATL cast member. They feel like this decision will declass “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Phaedra Parks was recently asked for her thoughts about the situation. During an interview with the Reality Rundown, Phaedra said she gets along with K. Michelle. And fans have to understand that a reality show must evolve.
“Well, I think TV’s went into a different direction. So I think in order for you to understand any casting, you have to understand the direction of TV. And when we first started the housewives way back in the early 2000s, it was different. There weren’t a million reality shows. It was just totally different, so now that you have all those reality shows, you have people who can watch the blueprint. It changes the game. So, everyone has evolved, and so does casting.”
