Cosmetic dentistry is constantly producing newer, faster and more effective technologies. In today’s day and age, those considering whitening procedures can have their teeth made up to 10 shades brighter in two hours. Others considering veneers can see three-dimensional molds of their new, porcelain smile before treatment to ensure the best results.
It’s more important than ever to find a provider capable of delivering state-of-the-art treatment, and no one is more committed to this promise than Austin Dental Spa.
“We understand that dentistry does not stand still in time,” said Dr. Krista DeCoursin. “That’s why we’re constantly searching for the newest and greatest technology to ensure the best treatment for our patients.”
DeCoursin, along with her colleagues Dr. Kirsten Thouvenot and Austin Dental Spa founder Dr. Mark Sweeney, is of the belief that each person deserves the chance to achieve the smile of their dreams. Together, they ensure everyone who visits Austin Dental Spa receives high-level care from the best technologies on the market.
iTero Scanner
The iTero intraoral 3D scanner provides patients a model of what their teeth will look like after a procedure such as veneers or Invisalign. A small wand gently moves across the mouth to capture three-dimensional images of a patient’s teeth, providing an alternative to other modeling methods that may involve sticky impressions or trigger a gag reflex.
“It makes a huge difference for patients to see what a treatment will look like on their own face,” said Thouvenot. “Not only do they feel comfortable moving forward, but it also helps us execute precise and efficient procedures.”

CEREC
The CEREC dentistry system makes restorations easy, producing porcelain crowns in under an hour with a 3D model obtained by infrared camera scans. Recently updated to the newest model, the CEREC allows Austin Dental Spa to eliminate the need for temporary crowns and reduce chances of microleakage, infection, pain and breakage.
Solea Laser
The Solea laser uses CO2 to perform hard and soft tissue dental procedures, from gum contouring to replacing traditional drilling used for fillings. The laser can be a great option for those with dental anxiety as it is virtually pain-free, doesn’t require numbing and reduces bleeding.
Along with providing technologically advanced methods, Austin Dental Spa also stands out for its individualized approach to care. Doctors are careful to work around a patient’s needs, offering solutions such as sedation dentistry for high-anxiety patients and avoiding phobia triggers like needles and loud noise when possible. They take the time to get to know each patient and create a treatment plan that is uniquely fit to their needs.

“We aim to excel in patient care, going above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable. We don’t judge or criticize; we’re calm, open and accepting,” said DeCoursin.
Whether patients seek cosmetic or general dental care, Austin Dental Spa is proud to provide the best of what dental technologies have to offer and help you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile.
