Tamar Braxton pulled an “aht aht” move when she addressed tension from Funky Dineva on Wednesday (August 27). The singer hopped on social media after her friend seemingly suggested she pulled a “PR Stunt.” He wasn’t specific about said stunt, but the whole callout started over her alleged refusal to clear his name. On a livestream, he claimed fans and bloggers were speculating whether he was to blame for the extensive injuries she described last week.

What Did Funky Dineva Say About Tamar Braxton?
As mentioned, Funky Dineva popped off on Wednesday via Instagram, first in a feed post and then on a livestream. In the post, he explained that he got “ate up alive” on his birthday weekend after Tamar told her fans via IG that she suffered a fractured nose and is missing teeth due to an incident she can’t recall. Aside from the graphic details of lying in “a pool of blood,” Braxton didn’t share much else. Her post sparked major concern from fans, especially given that she had written out the post rather than appearing on camera. Funky became a topic as blogs surfaced videos of him and Tamar kicking it before her injury announcement.
On Tuesday–days after sparking concern and prayers for her health–Braxton teased a new EP called ‘Heartbreak Retrograde.’ The promo clip features several folks, including Mendeecees and Funky Dineva. While her fans ate up the teaser clip, Dineva was quick to shoot it down! In his feed post, he warned that he was going to read Tamar “down to da ground” and alleged that there was “nothing wrong with Tamar’s a*s.”
“Now she done released this tired a** music video for this raggedy EP that don’t nobody want and because I’m in the video, people are going to think I was part of a PR stunt! I was collateral damage in a 2-bit PR STUNT,” he wrote in the caption.
Funky tagged the singer, too. He accused her of making no attempts to clear the air and not being his friend. “I didn’t deserve any of this and I’m deeply hurt,” he wrote.
Funky Presses His Foot Into Tamar’s Neck!
Soon after the IG feed post, Funky Dineva took his beef a step forward. He hopped on live and blasted folks who suggested he was involved in hurting Tamar.
“You internet detectives knew all the ins and outs of everything, and y’all just knew what was going on and whole time I was in my bed in Miami,” he said in the video.
Funky explained that he speculated a “PR stunt” after he texted Tamar Braxton about her post, saying he was confused about how she went to bed and woke up injured. He said she went ghost, but later texted him about other topics. When he tried asking about the injuries again, he claimed she ghosted him for a second time. Again, he told Tamar Braxton that he’d been “collateral damage” and that she could’ve privately said something about the allegations against him even if she chose not to speak publicly. And if there was a “PR stunt,” Funky suggested he just wanted to be in on the joke. At one point, he said Tamar will pay him for his “pain.”
Additionally, Funky admitted that he hopped on live after giving Tamar a Wednesday deadline to address the rumors on her social media, and she failed to comply. Her manager allegedly reached out about Braxton being in mommy mode with school drop-off, but Dineva was not here for the excuses! He went IN, saying that Tamar should’ve prioritized speaking out by any means, even if it was a “cryptic post” expressing her love for him. Dineva also claimed that Tamar repeatedly mentioned her career and project in the texts she sent him about his social media posts.
Braxton Clears The Air, Funky Forgives Her
After Funky (figuratively) pressed his foot into Tamar’s neck, she hopped on Instagram to address the tension. On her IG Stories, she tagged Funky Dineva and said she loves him “no matter what he says.”
“Had I known what was going on while I was in the hospital trying to recover, I would have said something. It’s terrible that whatever I DIDN’T say turned into all this. I just want PEACE,” she wrote, adding a broken heart emoticon. In another post, she said: “I’ve done too much healing to fight with ANYONE!! I just want to get better and continue doing what I love.”
In a third post, she wrote, “Never going back to what I grew from…nice try devil.” Another screenshot of her IGS, which social media blog ItsOnsite captured, shows the singer claiming she did not pull a “PR stunt.” That post has since been deleted from her platform. It read:
“I did NOT fake my accident. I wish it was a lie. Or a ‘PR’ stunt. I’m devastated that ANYONE would suggest that. Please enjoy my EP. I worked very hard and I spent my OWN money for my Tamartian friends to enjoy. This isn’t about anyone’s husband. This is just MY personal story about the WORST heartbreak I’ve ever known,” she wrote, adding a release date of September 19.
In response, Funky Dineva reposted the slide Tamar tagged him on. His caption stated that the post was all he wanted.
“It was the principle of the whole situation. I’m not one them other PONKS and I won’t be toyed with like I’m one of them or be treated disposable like I’m one of them. It’s done. I’m all good now @tamarbraxton . I pray you recover quickly and I hope the new project spawns nothing but hits!!! .”
