Tomlinson visited TCU’s campus in the early morning to meet with football student-athletes and staff at the Mike and Brenda Harrison Football Performance Center. Tomlinson also met with Head Football Coach Sonny Dykes and toured the new Simpson Family Restoration Center.
“It’s a humbling experience to think where I’ve come from to presenting this gold jacket and to be able to give back to this program that has given me so much,” said Tomlinson.
Tomlinson, who played for TCU in 2000, had a very successful college and NFL career. He played in the San Diego Chargers from 2001 to 2009 and the New York Jets from 2010 to 2011.
The new building includes a “purple” snow room, which is unheard of in any other collegiate athletics facilities.
The gold jacket is known as one of professional football’s most revered symbols.
Tomlinson’s jacket will be displayed on TCU’s campus as a tribute to the running back’s legacy and a source of daily inspiration for other fellow Horned Frogs.
As Tomlinson’s Hall of Fame jacket finds a new home at TCU, it will contribute to the reminder for Horned Frogs to strive to achieve greatness in life.
