The Lewisville couple was at the HTR campground along the Guadalupe River when the flood happened. Crews found Tanya’s body days later. Jeff is still missing.
TEXAS, USA — Editor’s note: The video published above is a WFAA report about the continued efforts to find Jeff Ramsey.
The dog of Jeff and Tanya Ramsey, who went missing during the July 4th Texas floods, has been returned alive to a family member, according to a spokesperson for Kerrville Pets Alive!.
Tanya Ramsey’s body has been recovered since the event happened, but Jeff Ramsey is one of three people still unaccounted for, WFAA previously reported.
The Lewisville couple was at the HTR campground along the Guadalupe River when the flood happened. Family members told WFAA the couple was staying in a separate cabin on the opposite side of the campsite. When the floodwaters rose, it was Jeff Ramsey who called the rest of the family by phone, waking them up and warning them to evacuate. Eric Steele, Jeff’s brother-in-law, said that without that call, they might not have survived.
Steele called the couple “heroes” for saving other members of the family. He described Jeff and Tanya as a deeply loved couple — Tanya recently beat cancer.
“They were perfect,” Steele previously told WFAA.
The Ramsey family will hold a memorial service in Lewisville next week for Jeff and Tanya — whether he is found or not. They pray that he, and every victim, will be found soon.
