In the season finale of “The Braxtons,” Towanda and Sean get married. Tamar’s sister retreat is productive with Trina and Toni. Here are the highlights for “Walking Down the Hall” and Malibu Mayhem.”
Towanda and Sean tie the knot.
It’s Towanda’s wedding day, and she has Trina and her other bridesmaids concerned. She’s crying uncontrollably, and no one knows why. After Trina is able to get Towanda to talk, she says she really misses Traci and wishes she could be there. Seeing the handkerchief Traci signed made her break down in tears. She wanted the handkerchief to be used for her bouquet, but didn’t realize it would make her so emotional.
Trina tells Towanda that Traci wouldn’t want her to be sad on her big day. Traci is still with them.
Towanda and Sean make it official in front of their families. While Toni is happy to see Towanda at her happiest, it does hurt that Traci and Tamar aren’t there.
Von goes to the hospital.
Tamar meets with her medium again. The sister retreat is a go, but Towanda is not coming. This really bothers Tamar because she feels like she has the biggest problems with Towanda. And she hopes that they can eventually get past their differences because she doesn’t want to be at odds with any of her siblings.
Back at the wedding, Trina is alerted that Von isn’t feeling well. His doctor tells Trina that Von needs to be taken to the hospital immediately. His potassium is too low amid his current heart issues.
Trina and Von leave the wedding to get to a hospital. Toni and Miss Evelyn don’t want to break the news to Towanda as she and Sean cut their wedding cake.
All in all, the wedding is a success. In a confessional, Towanda expresses her happiness in marrying the love of her life. She is grateful to take his last name.
Miss Evelyn tells producers that Mr. Larry was a great date to the wedding. She enjoyed herself and time will tell what happens with them now.
Von’s doctor checks him.
Trina goes with Von to his followup doctor’s appointment now that he was cleared to leave the hospital. His doctor, Dr. Brown, is stern with him because she told him he needed to go to the hospital the morning of the wedding because his potassium was at a critical level of 7. However, Von went to the wedding anyway. Dr. Brown was not happy to see him there, seeing as she was invited as a friend to the family.
Von didn’t want to disappoint Towanda.
Dr. Brown and Trina remind Von that he could have ruined Towanda’s big day if he had a stroke or heart attack. So he should have prioritized going to the hospital like he was told.
Von admits he didn’t make a good decision, and it could have cost him his life. He understands he has to make better decisions now.
Toni receives Tamar’s apology.
Tamar has her retreat with Trina and Toni. Things start lighthearted but get a bit tense after Tamar tells Trina she has anxiety, and it’s why she has high blood pressure. Tamar hopes they can reset at the sound bath she had planned for the next day.
The sound bath isn’t all that relaxing for Trina. She is uncomfortable with the process due to her religious beliefs.
Tamar is ready to hash things out at dinner. She flat-out asks Trina when things changed between them. Trina’s answer is that things changed after Tamar texted Towanda, her and Toni saying she didn’t want anything to do with them anymore.
The cease and desist letter is brought up. Trina and Toni say they don’t like that Tamar is trying to hold them accountable for it. They didn’t send it. And Tamar knows who sent it and needs to talk to that person.
Tamar apologizes to Toni for blaming her in any way for the cease and desist.
Tamar and Trina hear each other.
Trina asks Tamar when she is going to take accountability for assaulting her at the last sit-down. Tamar accuses Trina of putting her hands on her first. Producers bring them footage to watch, and Trina adamantly says once again that she didn’t hit Tamar. She only separated them when they were in each other’s faces. Trina doesn’t feel she did anything to warrant Tamar kicking her and pulling her hair.
Toni doesn’t understand why the disagreements between the sisters always have to be so extreme. Tamar’s belief is that the issue is that she is treated differently and is the only one ever held accountable.
After arguing a bit, Tamar tells Trina that she takes back assaulting her. Trina receives this and takes back her role in the breakdown that day. While Tamar is grateful she was able to get to the bottom of things with Trina and Toni, she does hope she can do the same in the future with Towanda. It’s bothering her to be in such a bad place with Towanda.
The episode and season conclude with all the sisters being optimistic that they can mend their bonds one day at a time. After all, they did promise Traci that they would protect their sisterhood.
