This is the email that University of Houston athletics is now apologizing for

An email was sent out Wednesday, encouraging fans to pick up homecoming tickets. Just one problem.

HOUSTON — No, the University of Houston football team did not beat Texas Tech this past Saturday, despite what you may have seen in an email from the school.

The Coogs suffered their first loss of the season to the Red Raiders, a 35-10 setback. But in an email sent out Wednesday, UH declared they won against Tech and encouraged fans to take advantage of a flash sale for tickets for the homecoming game against Arizona on Saturday, October 18.

The email said the big win against Tech was just the beginning.

“After an incredible victory over Texas Tech, it’s time to keep the energy rolling!” the email said.

Shortly after that email went out, UH sent another email and posted the following apology and explanation to social media….

“We are aware of an email that was inadvertently sent on behalf of Houston Athletics by a third party contractor which incorrectly mentioned a win against Texas Tech. Ultimately, Houston Athletics is responsible for the error. We apologize to our fans, our ticket holders and Texas Tech for the mistake.”
