“Throw them in jail” — Newsmax host demands Texas Republicans arrest their Democratic counterparts

SHAUN KREIZMAN (CO-HOST): With us today on set is John Tabacco. He is the host of Wise Guys. He still is because he shows up for work. John, thoughts on this story here?

JOHN TABACCO (NEWSMAX HOST): You know, I don’t know where to begin. You know, talk about theater. This is literally kabuki theater, because even the Republicans were saying, “Well, when they come back, we’re going to arrest them. We’re going to throw them right in the hoosegow.” They give them a police escort. They should have escorted them right to the precinct and locked them all up. You were not delivering your duties to the state. You were ordered back. You had a constitutional right. The example the Democrats are setting for young kids is when you don’t win your elections, and then the other team who won puts through a law constitutionally, don’t go along with it, run away, and go hide out of the state.

So I don’t know. To me, the whole thing is theater, and the Republicans would instill some confidence, I think, in all of us, if they did lock up a few of them and actually throw them in jail, and say there is a penalty, children.
