Two dead after multi-vehicle crash involving tractor-trailers on Highway 75 in Sherman

A 51-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man in one of the passenger vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

SHERMAN, Texas — Two people were killed early Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on North Highway 75 in Sherman.

Around 4:20 a.m., Sherman police said they received reports of a major accident in the 5400 block of the highway. When officers arrived, they found that a tractor-trailer had rear-ended a passenger vehicle, igniting a fire. The crash happened in a construction zone and involved five vehicles: three tractor-trailers and two passenger cars.

A 51-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man in one of the passenger vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene, Sherman police said. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims pending family notification.

The Sherman Police Department’s Critical Accident Investigation Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
